The thirteenth District Convention of Nepali Congress, Mahottari re-chose Mahendra Kumar Raya as its region president.
Raya was re-chosen in the wake of overcoming his nearest contender, Nageshwor Yadav, by a distinction of 141 votes, the vote check result toward the beginning of today appeared. The voting itself was hung on Tuesday at Jaleshwor, the region base camp.
Raya, who has been in the NC's top seat of the locale for as long as 25 years separated from two terms, gathered 502 votes, NC District Election Office said. Yadav earned 361 votes, Office Chief, Gyanendra Rawal shared.
