Colombia plane crash: 71 dead and six survivors on flight conveying Chapecoense football group
Sanctioned plane with a Brazilian first division football group smashed close Medellin while on its way to the finals of a territorial competition, murdering 71 individuals, Colombian authorities said. Six individuals survived.
The British Aerospace 146 short-pull plane, worked by a sanction aircraft named LaMia, announced a crisis and lost radar contact just before 10pm on Monday (0300 GMT) as a result of an electrical disappointment, avionics powers said.
The airplane, which had withdrawn from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, was transporting the Chapecoense group from southern Brazil for the principal leg of a two-amusement Copa Sudamericana last against Atletico Nacional of Medellin, which was expected to be played on Wednesday.
